With youth on the minds of telecommunications companies across Africa, Nigerian mobile operator Globacom announced it had relaunched Glo Bounce, a special rate package aimed at youth and “the young-at-heart.” It comes on the heels of numerous operators and tech companies looking for new ways to reach the youth across the continent.

The new youth deal from Glo will give subscribers the ability to “exchange calls at NGN 0.11 per second,” the company said.
Beyond that, the relaunched bundle package also delivers a number of other features, including “Campus Zone,” which gives users the ability to call other lines for the same per second rate once the subscription is activated..

“Subscribers on the platform also get 15MB of data free for every recharge of NGN 200 and above, as well as unlimited, free SMS,” Glo said.
With Africa’s population booming and much of that populous below the ages of 30-years-old, Glo and other telecom operators on the continent believe the future of technology lies with the youth.
In Ghana, Microsoft announced it had appointed a new country manager with the aim of attracting more and more youth to the tech sector. Also in Nigeria, MTN announced it was giving a month of free downloads away for local apps.
