NaijaTalkTalk- Nigeria’s MailCliq Launches To Compete With MailChimp

After going through bouts of frustration over expensive email newsletter campaign services such as MailChimp, two Nigerian entrepreneurs have launched MailCliq to help you launch email campaigns at reasonable prices.
Founded by Adedoyin Adedeji and Idowu Akinrelere, MailCliq describes itself as a cloud-based, email newsletter service that lets you send trackable email campaigns and newsletters “100 times cheaper than MailChimp”.
As a pay-as-you-go service, the startup allows you send email newsletters for as low as 20 kobo per email, including a delivery fee of N300, so if you’re sending to, say, 1,000 email subscribers, you’ll pay just N500 for the email campaign.
But apart from its rock bottom price rates, MailCliq supports local currencies and local payment options, as it allows you to make payments in Nigerian Naira with future plans to accept local currencies from other African countries.
Of course, you can also make payments in U.S. dollars as well as through online payment platforms like PayPal, 2CheckOut and Interswitch, but since MailCliq claims to be built for and with the African audience and market in mind, we expect to see a platform focused on making a huge difference in the African email marketing scene in the years to come.
