Syracuse, N.Y. — Michael Gbinije, now a member of the Nigerian basketball team, will play against his former coaches and a former Syracuse star tonight in Houston.


There, Team USA and Nigeria play in the Toyota Center. The game will tip at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. NBA TV will televise the game. It will also be streamed live on Facebook.

Gbinije, whose father, Frank, was born in Nigeria, was a key contributor last summer to Nigeria's ability to win the AfroBasket tournament and its automatic bid to the Rio Olympics. Jim Boeheim is again assisting Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski with the USA Basketball team. Mike Hopkins plays a supporting coaching role with the team. And Carmelo Anthony is one of Team USA's enduring stars.
