ThinkAfrica is a non-profit organization that seeks to connect the Diaspora and Africa,
provide a platform for those individuals collaborate, and in turn, create ideas that empower and promote Africa.

The organization is comprised of six founding members based in the Washington DC metro area: Fadekemi Adetosoye, Kinya Alexander, Collins Nzekwe, Kofo Olamide, Emmanuel Ogunsalu, and Hakeem Temidayo.

Overview: ThinkAfrica presents its first annual Young African Professionals in the Diaspora (YAPD) trip that will take place from December 16th—December 28th in Lagos, Nigeria.
The trip offers individuals representing the diaspora the opportunity to experience the corporate and social life in Nigeria. Individuals will network with top entrepreneurs and corporations in Nigeria.

ThinkAfrica (TA) participants will be visiting a number of corporations in Nigeria, such as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Nigeria, Deloitte Nigeria, Jobberman, and more. Additionally, participants will be visiting a number of tech startups in Lagos. ThinkAfrica will also host a startup roundtable that will feature CEOs from successful startups in Nigeria across various industries.

Event Lineup:
Friday, December 16th, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.—ThinkAfrica presents: YAPD Welcoming & Commencement Event, a fun networking mixer that includes an introduction of ThinkAfrica and an exciting evening of empowerment and open discussion regarding Nigeria’s current socioeconomic environment highlighting opportunities for entrepreneurs and innovators in the Diaspora held in Lagos, Nigeria.

The event will take place at The Event Room Nigeria, 6B Ogbunike Crescent Way by Avalon House, Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria. Speakers include Abike Dabiri, Chima Anyaso, Debola Williams, Japheth Omojuwa, Bayo Rotimi, and more.

Tuesday, December 20th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.— Startup Nigeria: Innovation, Collaboration & Creation: The likes of Opeyemi Awoyemi, Kunle Oguneye, Taiye Aliyu, Jide Ipaye, and more will be present to share their personal experiences. Speakers will be addressing challenges relevant to starting businesses in their respective industries and how they were able to overcome them. We are inviting local residents in Nigeria and abroad to have the opportunity to attend and receive excellent exposure to a plethora of renowned entrepreneurs in the Nigerian community. This event will take place at the Le Paris Continental Hotel in Lekki Phase 1, 16 Babatunde Dabiri Street, Lagos, Nigeria. The mission of this event is to identify opportunities for collaboration in business amongst those in the diaspora and those currently living in Nigeria.
