The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Dr. Ernest Nwapa has indicated that the incoming administration has given an assurance that it will protect indigenous and international firms operating in the country in line with the Local Content Act, NaijaTalkTalk reports.
Nwapa, who spoke at the inauguration of the multimillion naira engineering facilities by Thompson and Grace Investment Limited in Port Harcourt, said the NCDMB was committed to developing indigenous firms.
He said, “As we move into a new government, it is good that the new government has expressed support for Nigeria’s local industries and companies. We in the NCDMB are always called to support indigenous companies”.
“We state clearly that any Nigerian or international company that builds on local content in Nigeria, will be protected. We are committed in NCDMB to growing Nigerian companies; we believe that more support to local industries will solve the major problems of unemployment in this country.”
