NaijaTalkTalk- N-Power beneficiaries to teach in Kebbi rural schools

Birnin Kebbi – The Kebbi State Government says it will deploy 1,500 out of 2,000 youths under the N-Power programme to teach in rural areas as part of efforts to improve the standard of education in the state.

Gov. Atiku Bagudu disclosed this while launching the primary school enrolment campaign in Dumbegu Model Primary School in Maiyama Local Government Area on Tuesday.

A statement by Alhaji Abubakar Muazu, the Press Secretary to the governor, said the proposed deployment of majority of the N-power beneficiaries would boost teaching in the state and improve education.

Bagudu reiterated the resolve of his administration to ensure provision of adequate teaching and learning materials, and environment to improve education.

He appealed to community leaders to assist government in the management of the schools in line with the policy of the state on education.

The UNICEF Sokoto Chief Field Officer, Mr Muhammad Mohiudin, said the fund would support the development of child education.

He said the state was a beneficiary in the UNICEF Educate a Child (EAC) programme aimed at improving primary education.

He said nine local government areas were beneficiaries of the programme in the state, assuring that the programme will be sustained.
